Although I haven't been to the new wing of the much talked about Tysons Corner, I've heard plenty about the controversy the new Victoria's Secret store has been causing. These people are complaining about not wanting their teenaged kids being exposed to this "slut wear". Well, maybe they haven't turned on their TVs recently. Haven't these parents seen shows like The OC and One Tree Hill that are targeted towards a younger audience about kids in high school doing stuff that they would never dream of their kids doing? TV and internet media would pose a greater threat than a provacative lingere display any day. These people need to take a chill pill!
I think the marketing team at Victoria's Secret knew exactly what type of controversy this was going to cause. But we should all know by now that bad publicity is better than no publicity right? The same scandalous display that's generating all the buzz is the one that's also been getting lots and lots of people over to the new store to see exactly what all this buzz is about. And we should also know by now that SEX SELLS. So horray and two thumbs up to Victoria's Secret!

HA. The sad part of this is that a similar display was already done in the Winter of 2005. In the Mall of Americas. In Minnesota. Yeah, that's right in the middle of Heartland, U.S.A. So why is it that there was no ruckus about this in the Midwest? My theory is that people in the Washington, DC, are so uptight that the mere hint of something skimpy in public causes the far right, ultra conservative wankers to come out swinging their crap ass values around like it was some glorious flag.
